Victoria Smith is a Specialist Physiotherapist with over 25 years of experience, specialising in hip and knee diagnosis and rehabilitation. She qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1999 and is a registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).Â
As well her private practice, Victoria works in the NHS alongside leading orthopaedic hip and knee surgeons, giving her extensive expertise in managing complex cases. She has a proven track record of helping patients who have struggled to find solutions elsewhere, often making a significant difference where others have not. Highly skilled in requesting and interpreting imaging such as X-rays and MRIs, she ensures patients receive accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans. Victoria is also qualified in dry needling and joint injection therapy, providing additional pain management options when appropriate.Â
Passionate about movement and recovery, Victoria loves running, cold water swimming, wild saunas, waterskiing, and reading. Married with three children, she understands the importance of staying active and pain-free at every stage of life.
Victoria's approach to specialist physiotherapy
"I specialise in hip and knee physiotherapy, supporting people to move with confidence and clarity. Accurate diagnosis is at the heart of everything I do — I’m passionate about identifying the true source of pain so treatment starts in the right place. With over 10 years’ experience working closely with a hip and knee orthopaedic consultant, I bring a precise, evidence-based approach to diagnosing and managing hip and knee conditions. Every rehabilitation programme is fully tailored to the individual, with exercises that are specific, appropriate, and carefully taught to ensure safe and effective progression. I use a mixed, hands-on and exercise-based approach, including joint mobilisation, soft tissue massage, dry needling, and individualised exercise programmes at the right level. Where appropriate, imaging is used and carefully correlated with symptoms, and injection therapy is considered when it supports the best possible recovery. I am based in the Solent region, and regularly work with patients who travel from London and the New Forest to access my specialist expertise.
Outside the clinic...
"I'm passionate about movement and recovery, I love my regular 5km jog in a morning before work as I find this helps keep me fit and is great for my mental health. I'm one of those crazy people who enjoy cold water swimming followed by a wild sauna! In the summer I enjoy waterskiing, and also love a good book. Staying active and pain-free at every stage of my life is really important to me."
Why patients travel to see me...
"Many of my patients seek care after months or years of ongoing hip or knee pain, often having tried other treatments without lasting success. They value a clear, accurate diagnosis, a calm and thorough assessment, and a treatment plan that is specific to them — not a generic programme. With over 10 years’ experience working closely with a hip orthopaedic consultant, I regularly manage complex and persistent hip and knee conditions. For some, this specialist approach means travelling from London or the New Forest to access care that is precise, evidence-based, and carefully tailored to their individual needs."

What do I enjoy treating?
"I genuinely enjoy treating all hip and knee problems, from complex and persistent pain to post-operative rehabilitation. I have a particular interest in conditions such as gluteal tendinopathy, hip impingement, hip dysplasia, and hip osteoarthritis, and I especially enjoy supporting patients through post-operative rehabilitation following hip surgery, including hip replacement, arthroscopy and gluteal cuff reconstruction. I also enjoy managing a wide range of knee conditions, including knee osteoarthritis, meniscal injuries, ACL rehabilitation, and patellar tendinopathy, as well as post-operative rehabilitation following knee surgery and knee replacement, using tailored, progressive programmes to restore strength, confidence, and movement."
And if I had to choose, my favourite holiday destination would be...
"It would be a huge toss up between a warm, sunny caribbean beach or a cold, snowy city break- if there's an ice plunge even better!"
